MVT - Digital Direct for the AM6 engine with Ducati's ignition system is a high-performance ignition with 6 coils on the ignition plate. This ignition also works great on ECU models (like Power Up) without a battery.
The updated Premium V2 offers a smarter solution by combining the CDI and ignition coil, making installation easier. This system is developed by French ignition specialist MVT , known for their high-quality ignitions such as Millennium and Integral . The MVT Premium builds on their accumulated experience and technological advances, making it one of the most advanced inner rotor ignitions on the market.
Features and benefits:
-
Inner Rotor Ignition with Glow Coil : Premium is the first inner rotor ignition that can power the entire moped system through a glow coil and delivers 55 watts to the electrical system, making it an ideal choice as a replacement for the original ignition.
-
Lightweight aluminum rotor : The rotor weighs only 250g, providing faster throttle response and higher RPM.
-
Power gain : Tests on an original Yamaha Aerox show a power increase from 5.5 hp to 6.5 hp, which means that the ignition alone provides an extra horsepower. With a racing setup, the power can increase even more.
-
Ignition curve : The ignition is preset with an ignition curve that is optimized for each engine model, and it removes any CDI throttling.
Installation:
The ignition uses the same standard mountings as the original ignition and is delivered ready for installation. Connect the ignition as shown below:
-
Yellow : The lights
-
White : Battery charging
-
Red/Black : To Red/black on MVT CDI
-
Yellow/Green : Ground (connect to the metal chassis of the ignition coil for best results)
-
White/Black : Stop the engine
Additional tips:
Since the ignition generates a lot of heat, it is recommended to ensure good ventilation around the ignition plate and rotor. An easy way to improve airflow is to drill five 8mm diameter holes in the top and bottom of the cover that covers the ignition. This allows for better cooling and reduces the risk of overheating.
NOTE : This ignition does not have a built-in rev limiter and generates a lot of heat during operation, so be sure to ensure good cooling!
