The MVT Premium V2 for AM6 engines with ECU is a state-of-the-art inner rotor ignition that offers high performance and improved response. This version is specifically adapted for battery-powered mopeds, making it an ideal choice for moped riders looking for increased power and optimal performance.
Features and Benefits:
-
Built-in CDI and ignition coil : Unlike previous versions where the CDI and coil were separate, the Premium V2 comes with a combined CDI/ignition coil for easier installation and compact design.
-
Glow coil : The ignition has a glow coil that delivers 55 watts, making it capable of powering the entire moped system, including lighting and other electrical components.
-
Lightweight rotor : The aluminum rotor weighs only 250g, providing fast throttle response and higher RPM.
-
Power gain : Tests on an original Yamaha Aerox show that the Premium ignition increases power from 5.5 hp to 6.5 hp, which means a power increase of 1 hp with only the ignition installed.
-
Optimized ignition curve : The system is preset with variable ignition curves adapted to different moped models, which guarantees maximum performance. As an option, you can also purchase an EPROM system for further adaptation of ignition curves, perfect for trim setups.
Installation:
The ignition is compatible with the original brackets and easy to install, but requires the moped to have a battery. Important to note : the supply to the CDI must be 12V ignition current, and it must not be connected to constant +12V, as this can damage the ignition curve and cause problems with the spark.
Wiring diagram:
-
Black/red from the coil is connected to black/red from the stator.
-
Brown from the coil is connected with a current thief to brown or red/white to the ECU (depending on the model year).
-
Yellow/green is grounded on the ignition terminal bracket together with the black original ground cable.
-
Yellow from the stator is connected to red/yellow which was previously connected to the original stator.
-
White from the stator is connected to white that was previously connected to the original stator.
Cooling Tips:
Since the ignition generates a lot of heat, good ventilation around the ignition plate and rotor is essential to prevent overheating. A good tip is to drill five 8mm holes in the cover covering the ignition to increase airflow and improve cooling.
NOTE : This ignition does not have a rev limiter , and proper installation and cooling are important to avoid damage to the system.
With the MVT Premium V2 you get one of the most advanced ignitions on the market, perfect for upgrading and optimizing your moped.
